Dollhouse Project: The Dogcatcher's House
A dog lover's project!
This is probably my all time favorite house, and the most fun to complete.
Working on a theme gives you a starting point, and something to build your story on. In this case, the house belongs to a retired dogcatcher who decides to share his home with as many unwanted dogs as he can. And, as you can see, the dogs have literally taken over the house! The house was featured in American Miniaturist #46 (Feb. 2007). Read an interview my friend Courtney Mroch did about me and my house here.
As you'd expect, the house interior was initially pretty run down. Thanks to an endowment from a generous friend and fellow dog lover, Mr. Dogcatcher did some renovations to his well-worn home. Of course, that doesn't mean he's gotten around to taking down his Christmas decorations yet. (At least he has an excuse. With all those dogs, who has time?) Anyway, let's start the tour. Knock on the door and come in. Don't worry, the dogs are friendly.
